The Team Behind BEAM
Like most entrepreneurial ventures, BEAM Minerals began as a passion project.
After experiencing various health conditions, including gut inflammation, elimination issues, recurring sinus infections, flat-lined adrenal glands and low-functioning thyroid, co-founder, Caroline Alan, was tired of the “solutions" she was being sold by health practitioners who couldn’t seem to pinpoint what was wrong. She tried protocol after protocol, ultimately realizing that their solutions were worse than the problem. While sharing her story with long-time friend (and now business partner), Dan Howard, she was introduced to the seldom-discussed concept of mineral supplementation.
Caroline began using plant-based humic and fulvic minerals daily and the difference she felt was far more than coincidence. As her body became remineralized, Caroline started to notice fundamental changes in her health! Her gut inflammation resolved, her adrenal function returned, her sinus issues ended and, as pointed out by her dentist, her overall oral pH levels had changed. Somewhat stunned by the myriad of positive results she was experiencing, Dan and Caroline decided that more people needed to know about minerals, specifically plant-based humic and fulvic minerals, and the potential they hold for improving health and well-being.
Dan Howard and Caroline Alan founded BEAM Minerals as a vehicle for educating people about minerals and bringing effective mineral replenishment to humanity. Because of their personal experiences using these natural, plant-based minerals substances, Dan and Caroline and are committed to providing completely pure, 100% bioavailable, sustainably produced, fulvic and humic products.
Sharing a Simple Message Is Best
After experiencing the remineralization of their own bodies, our founders made it their mission to learn everything imaginable about the science of minerals (and other micronutrients) in the human body – and thus perfect their formula. This journey led to insatiable research into the fields of cellular biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, neurobiology and other neurosciences. The research then turned to plant decomposition, soil science, and other related fields, such as the study of GMO and the use of herbicides and pesticides in our food supply.
Surrounding themselves with people they say are “much smarter than they are,” they experimented and vetted their theories with doctors, scientists, and other experts in many related fields. While the process was laborious, they had a single purpose: to understand how minerals operate in the body, the process of mineral replenishment, how and why plant-based minerals are so effective and ultimately, to be able to explain it all in simple language that everyone can understand.
Caroline Alan, Co-Founder & CEO
Coming from a career in the corporate world, Caroline Alan found herself struggling physically, mentally, and energetically. As a woman juggling career, motherhood, and the multitude of expectations placed on a professional woman, she was repeatedly told that her issues were “just normal.” Thankfully, she refused to accept that answer.
During her journey back to health, Caroline encountered plant-based minerals and their incredible ability to support a return to natural balance in the body. As a result, she has become devoted to educating people about the benefits of mineral replenishment and the specific efficacy of plant-based humic and fulvic substances.
Caroline’s research into why minerals are important in human physiology and how they work in the body has taken her deep into microbiology, molecular biology, cellular biology, agricultural soil science and the study of plant decomposition. In the process, Caroline has found ways to help others understand the effects of mineral depletion and why plant-based humic and fulvic mineral supplementation support healing and optimal health.
Dan Howard, Co-Founder & President
With a background in cutting-edge technology start-ups, Dan has a gift for creating organizations which optimize the combination of people and technology. Thus, it comes as no surprise that his passion is supporting humans with technology – especially as it relates to their own health.
Having a cursory knowledge in the field of mineral depletion, Dan attributes his curious mind to the start of BEAM Minerals. Having shared his knowledge with Caroline Alan during her season of depletion, he – somewhat unknowingly – started a movement. His curiosity led to the co-founding of BEAM Minerals, bringing the topic of cellular nutrition to the light.
Dan’s voice has helped break the silence on the topic of mineral replenishment. In harmony with many scientists, he contends that the cellular interaction of plant-based humic and fulvic minerals is still not fully understood, but is likely the vanguard for human health – including the necessity of replenishment in plants and soils. Dan is devoted to shifting the health and consciousness on the planet and believes that the simple power of plant-based minerals will assist in this transition.
Putting the Beam in BEAM Minerals
We’re often asked the meaning of our company name. As you may surmise, the all-caps name comes from an unintentional acronym.
One day, while brainstorming on a white board (where most great ideas begin), the words “Best Electrolytes And Minerals” was written. BEAM. It was as if the company named itself.
Just as a “beam” brings light, it has become our passion to see others come alive from the inside and allow their inner light – their BEAM – to shine brighter in the world.

When founders Caroline Alan and Dan Howard first experienced the difference that proper mineral balance made in their own lives, it was hard to describe. At a lack for words to explain the “aliveness” that happens when 37-trillion cells begin functioning in harmony, they could only explain to people that the difference felt as if they had finally “come alive.” And now, they live each day to share that life-giving cellular nutrition with anyone who will listen to their message of mineral evangelism.
